Our Historic Roots
Our Pottsville location's historic essence will forever represent our roots and symbolize the long and treasured past of our business.
The doors were opened for the first time in 1913 by Frank J. Murphy, Patrick’s grandfather, under the name Murphy Jewelers and Optometry. The original location was across from Pottsville City Hall, and eventually moved to the heart of Downtown Pottsville. Business was conducted back then by going door to door in a horse and buggy repairing school house clocks.

From a modest and simple yet passionate beginning, this store has carried our business to a level we're very proud of. Over 90 years later, our Pottsville store serves as the foremost showcase of our image. It tells the story of how and where we began, and epitomizes a rich history of dedication to the creation of a shopping experience second to none.
